What is HGH?

HGH stands for human growth hormone. It is a protein distinct from both GHRH analogues and IGF-1 analogues.

The NLM substance description identifies human growth hormone as a polypeptide containing 191 amino acids. HGH is therefore a much longer amino-acid chain than a tri- or pentapeptide.

HGH, GHRH and IGF-1 are separate names for separate molecules. Tesamorelin, Ipamorelin and IGF-1 LR3 appearing in related literature does not make them alternative names for HGH.

HGH and the IU unit

IU means international units and expresses biological activity against a defined reference. It describes something different from mass in mg or volume in ml.

Read the unit together with the number of the current variant. An IU label must not be relabelled as mg or treated as a measurement of this product’s activity without supporting documentation.
